These "Zones" we base our work on are modeled after the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. While these Zones aren't absolute, they are a good basis for home fire safety. Some mitigation techniques may need to be added upon to account for terrain, topography, or local weather patterns.
